Smile How to Install a Background Layout

1.) Underneath your Avatar Picture (upper left hand corner) where it says “Manage my page or photo,” click on “My Page.”

2.) On that page, click on the “Appearance” link.

3.) On this page there are three tabs. The third one over says “Advanced.” Click on that.

4.) If there is code already there, erase all of that code.

5.) You need a CSS code, or a “Profile 2 MySpace Layout” Code to copy and paste into the Advanced Section. If you use a MySpace Layout, make sure it is a Profile 2, not 1, layout.

6.) Do a search to find sites that have MySpace 2 Layouts, and choose the layout you want to use.
Some websites include:
www.backgroundsarchive.com
www.Pyzam.com
www.hotfreelayouts.com
www.dolliecrave.com
www.glitter-graphics.com
www.poqbum.com
www.myhotcomments.com
www.glitterfy.com
www.topbun.com and many more…

7.) After you choose the layout you want to use, copy the code into the Advanced Section, then make sure you click SAVE at the very bottom of the page!

8.) After installing your layout you can to do some editing on the “Basic Theme” and “All Options” Pages.

9.) You can choose the colors of your subheaders, font, etc (although some layouts already come with a pre-set font and text color already).

10.) If you want the area where you display graphics (the “Body”) to be clear so you see through it to the layout below, click on the checkered color option (checkered=transparent). If there is no checkered color option, then type in the word “transparent” on the line, and it will be transparent. You can do that for your “status” if you want, also.

11.) Play around with the various options in the “Basic Theme” and “All Options” sections to find out what color combinations and styles you like the best. The more you experiment, the more you will learn about how to edit your page. With time and practice you will get better and better at it.

If anyone else has more advice to add, or layout websites you recommend, please feel free to post in this thread!

If you have any questions you are welcome to leave me a comment with your question either in a message on this forum or on my PandaSpace Page: Flowers' PandaSpace Page

Have fun experimenting with your page!
